My coverage of Canada Day 2014 at Kinsmen Park featuring @MiaMartina

Hi guys: On July 1st 2014, I celebrated Canada Day at Kinsmen Park in Pickering, Ontario Canada. Firstly, my friend Sarah and I visited the kid zone. We checked out some cool slides and games.

We painted some flower pots and played basketball.

Then we got henna's by www.bangladeshi.ca  I got a butterfly and my name. Sarah got some hearts. Then we took some pictures of the events and stations. Check out our photography. Thanks dad and Sarah
Then we got ready for the show. We got our snacks, dinner and of course ice cream. Then I went back stage with Tania a staff from @pickeringevents I was able to take pictures and interview some performers. Here are some pictures, I took while I was backstage.

I took a picture with @EH440 and then I asked them a question. The video is down below. I thought that they were sweet, down to earth and extremely nice. After their performance Sarah and I put our money together and we bought their new and first album. So @Eh440 they are a vocal band. They do not use any instruments except their voices and technology to create music. They are a acapella band. They were amazing.

Then I saw the band the @Fiddlestix I got their autograph backstage. Here is my opinion of the @Fiddlestix They were very nice and awesome. They used many instruments to make beautiful songs. They used instruments such as the guitar, the bass, drums, keyboard, and of course the fiddle.
It was so cool to get retweeted by @Fiddlestix and @Eh440 and guess what? Both bands are following me on twitter!! Omg!!!
The headliner of the night was @MiaMartina along with her DJ. They both had everybody dancing. It was really awesome to see this. Then the fireworks began. It was a great night.

Canada Day was fun and I'm excited for next year. Thank you @pickeringevents and Sharon Milton for supporting me as a blogger. See you next year.

Canada Day at Kinsmen Park

After my afternoon at the Music By the Bay festival. I headed over to Kinsmen Park!

It was a free day of fun for the whole family. There was bouncy castles, games, food and lots to do!

I even interviewed a woman from the Durham Tamil Association that could write names on rice. Wow! Check it out. That's my name on that rice. :)

I headed over to the Kinsmen Park stage. I met my friend Laurel  and we found a spot. We knew Suzie McNeil would be performing.

There were so many @suziemcneil fans. They were so excited to see her perform and so was I.

Here is superstar Suzie McNeil performing.

Here are some pictures of her. My friend Laurel was so excited too. Suzie McNeil had just signed her Canadian flag. Stayed tuned to my facebook www.facebook.com/itsbrookesworld because I am going to be posting more pictures of Canada Day at Kinsmen Park. I have many pictures of @suziemcneil performing.
Update: I have just added the pictures from Canada to my facebook page. There are many photos of Ms Neil there. Check it out and while your are there. Please like my facebook page. Thank you.
Album...
I even got to ask her a question. This is what I asked her and here is her answer.

1.What do you like doing in the summer for fun?

Answer: I like to go to my parents cottage and go to Toronto beaches but mostly I like to go to my parents cottage.

She also signed my Canada flag too. Cool. That's going in my scrap book/my book of fave memories.

Today was the best day ever. Thank you Ms.Tina Tayes from the City of Pickering for inviting me and I even got to meet the mayor of Pickering Dave Ryan.

Media Launch for Music By the Bay Festival

On June 20th, 2012 I was invited to the media launch for The Music By the Bay Festival. Guess what I get to be media? Cool.

Here is a picture of Mr and Mrs Murray and me. They make this festival possible.

This festival is where musicians under the age of 21 get to show their music on Canada Day. Hundreds of people auditioned for a spot but only 10 got picked. Cool. On Canada Day we get to see the 10 musicans that got picked. And guess what I got to meet and interview one of the 10 lucky ones? His name is Cole Hermer. I also got to talk to his parents too. They knew he wanted to play guitar but they didn't know he could sing. Cole surprised them by singing at his first concert when he was in Grade 6. He is only 17 now and he can play beautifully. His mother also told us a surprise. He his working on a album with a member of the band called Glass Tiger. That member is now a music producer. He discovered him at one of Cole's concerts.  So he emailed Cole's parents and he said come to the studio and we will make an album....and now they have 10 songs so far.
Here is a picture of me and Cole's parents.

Here is my interview with Cole Hermer.

Here is a link to Cole's facebook page. So please like his page. I got to hear him perform and he was awesome. Love his music.
